New Holiday Season Prices!
I know what you’re probably thinking: “Hey Paul, it isn’t even Thanksgiving, why are you setting prices for the Holiday season now?”
First of all, my price points have been long overdo for an overall to meet my customer base in the middle. Secondly, Thanksgiving is only 16 days away and Christmas will be nipping at it’s heals and I want to get prices set before the holiday rush to give folks an idea of what prices they would be looking at if they are looking to get a memorable gift for that special someone.
My original pricing strategy was based off of a formula I uncovered that would normally be used to recuperate costs if I was doing photography full time. Since it is not my full time job, the prices were inflated to some extent and needed to be brought down. Some prices have come down considerably. For instance a 12×18 glossy or matte print that was originally listed at $114.99 is now listed at $39.99.
I want to be able to offer up photos that friends, family, and enthusiasts can afford while also providing me with enough profit to bankroll equipment upgrades and the occasional storm chasing expedition. Because of my quality standards, that means I use local printing services rather than the online printing giants so that I can inspect each print and sign it before sending it off to you, the customer. This increases the base cost for each image with the end price that you see here representing about double what the base cost is for printing materials and labor.
(Maybe more background than you want, but there’s the business reasoning behind it.)
As always, if you see something on social media that hasn’t made it to this site for sale, please do not hesitate to contact me.
